I

A weekend to forget, dismiss and otherwise ignore...

I had good intentions of getting in some k's over the weekend, but it just didn't happen in the style I was after. Do other people ever have such a fierce case of the CBF's (can't be ...) that just doing the simple plan is a hardship. Christ, what a whinger I am...

Hell ride on saturday was a crap idea from the get-go, and I was really only saved by seeing Johnny down there, but even that wasn't enough to get me to fire, and I served as a moving road block for an hour or so and pulled the pin for home. A brutal wind, less than zero legs after a fast week and riding beside a bloke with one hand in a cross wind put paid to my enthusiasm, so I bailed for an hour of block headwind slog home. Yay... Tough morning, and one best put in the past.

Sunday was a roll down to Box Stallion Winery for a birthday, in a screaming easterly for a change, and it was bloody unpleasant I must say. With the bike stepping sideways with the wind howling off the ocean, there were precious few people about and nowhere to hide, so it was a tough 4 hours before lunch, only to be dissapointed by the meagre servings at lunch. Seriously, that neuvo cuisine has gotta stop, I'd waste away if I ate out much... I chose the trout, all I got were glad wrap thin slivers of trout... Thats an hors douvre (sp?)if you ask me! Still, it was kinda tasty and in true cyclist fashion, I just appropriated everything else on the table to fill me up.

I went past that Martha Cove place as well, where they have run the road under a river/ocean to get boats into the marina village - very cool, and a serious amount of work and money. Not a bad place for a shack if you have a lazy few mill... Unless you want to pay millions for a knock down on the Safety Beach main road.

And the wind continues on... Today its knocked out the power 3 times, the internet has only just come back and everything that was outside is either over the fence or strewn down the drive. Damm I hate the wind! Kite surfers can keep it! NZ on friday, yeehhaa!

No Power is not fun, 5 hours today without any power. I had to finish cooking dinner with my Night Lightning light until it came back on!
