Shotguns and logging coupes

Another beautiful summers day, gettin out there...

Loaded up well before dawn and hit the road. Took a selection of pictures but mostly just explored the bush, looking for some new trails.

Got in a bit of a tangle...

Small creeks had some water in them.

Midsized creeks had plenty of lush undergrowth.

Found a jelly bean tree.

And the larger bodies of water had all sorts of weird pipes n' stuff...

Then I made Hoff look good on camera...

Yet he made me look like a hack. Or perhaps I am just that..

Summer...

Where to next?

And in reference to the title, to make a geographically misplaced situation worse, you can always rely on the heady mix of a logging coupe in full swing (on a sunday?!) and a bloke with a rifle 'testing' it out, at the bottom of a very steep chewed out climb you've just skidded down, to get you nervously exchanging glances with your riding mate.... The loggers were very understanding and considerate, chopping up a tree that was blocking the track (and our exit) with their 30t excavator, and where the bloke with the rifle took off to, I don't want to know... Fun times! :)
