Headed up to the King Valley over the weekend. Turns out it was a nice weekend... Friday night was relatively painless getting out of town on the long weekend, and somewhere near Tolmie, we stayed beside a fairly mangy creek.
Dissapointingly, someone had taken a few potshots at quite a snazzy expensive info sign. On the up side, thats pretty nice grouping on the shots....
Overlooking the King Valley on saturday morning, the weather sure did turn it on.
Whilst hot as buggery, there are still little pockets of life up higher.
Sneaking in a mid arvo dip in the King River, Jenson was quite happy to be out of the truck and in the water.
Not the best campsite we'd ever found, as the rest of the Valley was dotted with campers, we were at least alone, and beside the water. Not bad on the Australia day long weekend, to have this 10ft from your door.
Jenson keeping a close eye on breakfast, just to be sure its cooking nicely and nothing gets spilt..
The rougher the track got, the harder the kid slept. Perfect!
Morning smoko creek for a quick break. Nice :)
Redneck lifejacket?
Sharing sticks with Jenson at DalZotto winery for lunch.

And anyone who hasn't seen the renovations after the fires last year, well you can get the idea. Its a lot more open, shall we say. There is barely a skerick of regrowth after the fires, so hot they must have been...
Hottest 100 for Australia DAy at Mt Hotham, on a day like this?! Not bad!
