The Final stages

So for the next installment of photos, we depart Jindabyne after a disaster of a night where we were essentially ripped off with some accomodation- we parted with $140 for a place with a fireplace, spa and cooking arrangement... Sounds great, a touch pricy but at 4.30 on Good Friday, who were we to complain. Well complain we did, when we saw the fire was in the lounge room of the backpackers hostel next door (seriously), the spa bath was actually a spa basin and the cooking arrangment was a cooktop element (singular) with one crap pan under a smoke alarm. And the view looked out to the far distant lake, over the chairlift factory, retaining wall and the 12inch, firetruck red supports..., Charming. We decided to take our chances elsewhere for the night and try and get our money back in the morning. Fortunatly we were successful, but we decided to blow Jindabyne after that...!!!

Of course, the night was the worst weather that we had whilst we were away, with pouring rain and howling wind, so we retreated to the camp kitchen at the caravan park for a few (!!) drinks after our pleasant evening thus far...! And yeah, it was freakin cold!

The sort of sorry looking tarp and all our gear on the deck after we elected quite sensibly to sleep in the back of the truck. The lake view was a little better than our 'room'... Goood thing we got our money back is all I can say!

And Daffy rocked 'round for a gander. Geddit?

And after many year, here is the Snowy flowing again!
