And so another year of Glenmaggie slides on by. Except it was hot. And the water was flat. And we didn't have to drive so far. And there was no-one else there. And it was FREE!!

Glenmaggie is dead. Long Live Torrumbarry... The new Glenmaggie location was on the banks fo the Murray and it was a fine ol' weekend! Weather was scorching, the water was glassy and the boat ran like a charm. As I'm stupidly tired after 5am rises, all day wake boarding and long nights around the fire, I shall let the pictures do most of the talking.

How about that pontoon eh! What a sturdy site (sight?) that is!!! Kinda...

LG in hot pursuit in the rescue bumper boat, of a wayward skimboard headed for major shipping lanes. The rescue was a success, over without event in a matter of mere hours. The grass had grown beside our chairs in the meantime...

Jan the Yabbie mowing into a salada biscuit. He was the life of the party before he was fored to return to his own kind.

A new sorta yabbie, although it must be a certain breed of dumb. It craftily avoid hour rods for hours, only to be hooked in by sweet tasting sausages in the yabbie net. Charlie was dispatched with a swift shovel blow, although he certainly knew what hit him!

This is what your hands look like after spending hours floating in the river , then trying to unsuccessfully learn to wakeboard. We almost felt sorry for him, as monday was going to be a day of solid shovel work, laying sewer line. Wouldn't that be fun with hands like these...

The flies are always a bit challenging up on the river, but so is trying to get a bit of shut eye in the middle of the day. Dave wrapt up in the mozzie netting to try and get some down time behind a tree, but someone was having none of that!

The boys drifted for hours down the river, requiring a few replenishment runs to keep them happy, until a squal came through and all the two shivvering fellahs wanted was a towel and to go home. They came good as soon as we returned to camp, but they'll wear the suntan for weeks!

The Red Baron was good for many things over the weekend, providing a shelter for my bed, shade during the day, a clean place to store stuff, and light in the middle of the night. A sure fire winner, although not really up to pulling the boat up and back. 2.4 diesel isn't cut out for loaded hill climbing unfortunately... Anyone got a spare patrol or land cruiser they want to sell?

Steve provided plenty of inspiration over the weekend, with a huge display of attempts, and one landed back roll from many attempts. He, along with others, beat themselves senseless over the weekend in pursuit of landing a new trick. At 25+ mph, the water is far from soft, and we are all feeling the effects of it. Still, loads of fun, and the boat kept everyone happy with its equally flawless performance, with thanks to the boys at RepairRite.

The weekend was a blast, it'll take some time to recover for all of us, and whilst a deadline at work rushes closer, and spare time flies out the window, the Kona 24hour race comes up this weekend, and there is never a dull moment!
