GlenMurray 2014

Another awesome year of heading to the river for the annual trip has slipped by, leaving us tired, tanned and ready to do it all again.

With a mountain of gear on board, we headed once again to the big brown ribbon of fun that is the Murray river. Its been a long few weeks getting things in order to complete the first trip of the season, and on the first day, I managed to get the 3 annoying things that will always happen, out of the way early. A totally blown out thong, a ripped tent and a shredded ski handle all on the first day meant the trifecta was reached nice and early and we could get on with things.

Wheat harvesting is in full effect this time of year, and with temperatures around the 36-38deg mark, its good times. To be nice and close to the river is always appreciated!

Loaded up, things were all rosy on the way up, and back, but after hearing a faint noise in the Tunnel on the way home, I backed the boat into the driveway only to find a wheel bearing was completely gone on the trailer. Jacking the trailer up, I was able to simply pull the whole wheel off... Amazingly lucky, and the second time in the boats' history to cheat failure!

As time goes by, I guess there is less and less photos of actually *doing* the things that I love to do,  but I try to keep the photos that do make it here at least amusing if nothing else. People are less inclined to put themselves in positions to hurt themselves if things go wrong, so we have to wait for the pain moments and hope we have something out to catch them. I'm probably the most guilty of it, having been wakeboarding for more years than I care to admit, but at a point that any new trick learnt comes with a hefty pain price tag. I believe there may be a screen shot coming of someone getting the full pain treatment!

Jenson couldn't be any more happy at the river, complete with grass seeds, water in his ears and dreadlocks by the end of the weekend. But with limitless children to play with, water that never ceases and a comfy patch of dirt to snooze on, he's as happy as can be.

Not sure the expression 'never work with children and animals' holds as weight as it once did. Other than sooking from being made to stare into the sun whilst I fiddled about, both subjects were great!

And these two have grown to be somewhat inseparable.

As time goes by, more and more things get added to the repertoire. This is the first time on a ski tube.

But if I'm honest I do find them quite boring... And it seems like someone else does too. Asleep, during his first ever go on one...

Ah well, at least he's relaxed. On the ski's next time?!

"OI, YOU RIGHT IF THE KID DRIVES? HE'S GOT HIS EYES CLOSED, THAT GOING TO BE A PROBLEM??!'   Ever helpful...

Its not all action... Sometimes you can just sit and watch the world go by. But it doesn't last long!

Towards the end of the day, not everyone has had enough of the water. With a blink of an eye, a few hurried footsteps, and a look back to see that someone is going to chase him, Mr Mischief heads for the water, often with his black furry mate in tow....

Team issue boardies.

Concerning, at best...

And then we feed....

Thanks for the fun times, boat! 'Till next time....

And I've just chopped this section out of a clip and zoomed in on it, but it might explain why Nath still hurts, 7 days on...
