Rainin' all 'round...

Off to MtBuller on the weekend for a week of trying to grow big and strong in the rain... Pity all the snow was washing away at all the resorts, as its going to make it hard to keep anything on the ground, with the base all but washed away....

Rolling through the city on friday night, we saw a protest. I don't know what they were chanting about, and there wasn't many of them, so I figure they've got a tough run ahead of them...

Loading up the G-wagon with eleventy hundred kilos of crap we are never going to need in the rain. The racks took a little bit of grief, but it was all cammed on so hard it wasn't ever going to escape.
Paarty in the Boys truck!

Small amounts of gymnastics were required, no mean feat considering the refreshments on the way up the hill. Here is Norwegian Arlen showing us how they do it Northside... Thats northern hemisphere for the simple folk, and those not 'down' in 'da hood'.

Loosing myself in the deep, rich, enchanting eyes of the Bundy bear. And yep, it a real polar bear!! Note to self- you can't hide anywhere from one of these bastards! If its hungry, its coming for you, and nothing is going to stop it. THEY ARE HUGE!!!

Loving life up on the Summit with a decent breeze and a whole lot of rain. Strangely, the snow was actually quite fun to play on, not too gooey like you'd expect. Must be that funny man made snow being engineered to be impervious to water. Or something...

Beau in denial...

Beau in acceptance... Must be a good reason that he is letting someone paint his nails prior to goign to the pub...

That could have something to do with that aforementioned reason...

Apparently it was bare chest night at the pub. I thought it was a great idea to post up a bunch of similar photos with amusing captions, but I'm not that sort of a sicko, and this isn't one of 'those' sites. So you only get the funny ones if you ask for 'em! (add a comment at the bottom of this post)Mel obviously getting all hot and bothered at Bare Chest night! Its not hard to understand why, we were all pretty big units!

To blow off 'someone' s hangover, we rolled out to Mansfield and back in the rain and lack of warmth. Good for a giggle, and character building as well, I"ve been told.

LG hopped back in the nice warm car to spin back up the hill whilst I did some pennace for an indulgant weekend, having a bit of a hoon back up the hill in the fog, with buses rifling past my shoulder and the stench of brakes from the descending cars. Tempo in the sleet, in lycra had more than a few people turning their heads in shock. The ice that formed on my arms and helmet reminded me that this was a profoundly shit idea, but if it doens't kill you, and its better than TV, it must be good for you. And in true homage to Le Tour, the car came back down to meet me on the hill and with 3 people literally hanging out the window hurling (abuse) support, I did my best to sprint up the final few pinches in the limit.

All in all, another weekend of fun, good peeeple and good times. Where to this weekend?? Racing!!
